An interactive installation that focuses on how people develop emotional attachments to places and how we take this for granted. It aims to uncover how we associate emotions to certain places and environments due to past experiences when they’re forced upon us rather than a natural attachment. A ‘space’ becomes a ‘place’ through experiences and when it is filled with things that we value/devalue as individuals.

Using the metaphor of the home for the setting of the interactive environment/ installation is drawn upon the fact that the home is often seen as the place where one feels safe and comfortable. While on the other hand I also wanted to play upon the fact that a ‘home’ may not always be a physical house. It brings to light the fact that a home may not always guarantee a sense of these emotions, and does not necessarily mean that one lives in them.
Participants and their modes of engagement will be dependent on their past personal experiences with the objects/sounds/video that is included in each of the rooms, along with their empathy levels. Because the emotion is being forced upon them, it is hard to categorise the participants into clustered potential users because of the personal nature of the installation.
Illustration I did as part of an (infographic) series of posters. The final had text and explanatory arrows
